The perfect introduction to Ashtanga Yoga – six weeks long in depth introduction to Ashtanga Yoga background, practice and philosophy course. Care and attention to detail, and precision in learning the correct vinyasa system of Ashtanga Yoga mean that the student will progress quickly and develop a clear and enjoyable personal Yoga practice, bringing health to both body and mind. Absolute beginners are welcome.
After completing our course students are well prepared to attend our drop in self practice Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga classes and they are ready to do 30 min long self yoga practice at home.
Please bring your own yoga mat.
This course will cover:
- Ashtanga Yoga Background & Philosophy
- Primary Series postures alignment / modifications
- Breath, Bandha, Drishti, Concentration – the internal practice
- Preparation to Traditional Mysore Style Self Yoga Practice

Studio Location & Car Park Details
Our AYM studio is located in Northern Quarter at Methodist Central Buildings, Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ, opposite Afflecks Palace, just one minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens.
Nearest public car parks are at Shudehill, Church Street & Tariff Street. There are also surface car parks off Oldham Road & Great Ancoats Street. However if you have any shopping to do, there is a three hours free car park in the Urban Exchange Retail Park (on Great Ancoats Street and just a few minutes walk from the studio, and with no purchase necessary to park for free).
